Maria Askiti was born in Thessaloniki in 1972. She graduated from the German School of Thessaloniki with an overall grade of 17.6 of the Greek Baccalaureate and a German Abitur grade of 1.8, which certifies her knowledge of the German language. She is married and a mother of two children. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the ENT Society of Central Greece from 2004 to 2007. She studied at the Semmelweisch University Medical School (Hungary) for the first 5 semesters, and she transferred through examinations at the Medical School of the Democritus University of Thrace with a "very good" grade in 1998.
From May to August 1998, she had a 3-month training at the AHEPA General Hospital of Thessaloniki and from August 1998 to August 1999, she was at the Health Center of Koufalia. Then, in General Surgery at the 1st Surgical Clinic of the General Hospital of Serres with an extension under Law 2646/98 until 16/10/2000. Her ENT specialty was completed at the University ENT Clinic of the University Hospital of Larissa from October 2000 to October 2004 and she obtained the specialty title in April 2005.
She is also a Research Associate of the clinic from graduation until January 2006. From February 2006 to February 2007, she was an Assistant Physician at the University Hospital of Larissa and has been in individual practice since July 2007 with a fully equipped clinic, both technologically equipped in terms of audiological equipment and endoscopic equipment, in the area of K. Toumba, Thessaloniki. She speaks English and German.
In her practice, she performs a complete ENT examination of the nose with endoscopy, examination of hearing and tinnitus with tonal audiogram, play audiometry for children and tympanometry check of the Eustachian tube, posterior labyrinth with video sonography and treatment of vertigo with repositioning manipulations are performed. Ear cleaning by irrigation or suction, cauterization of lower nasal cavities by radiofrequency and micro-interventions.
