Cardiothoracic Surgeon, Stavros I. Daliakopoulos, studied Medicine at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. From 2003 to 2009, he completed his specialization at the largest Cardiac Surgery Centers of Germany (Wuppertal, Bad Oeynhausen). After obtaining the specialty Title (Münster 05/2009) he worked as a full-time Cardiac Surgeon in one of Germany's largest Cardiac Surgery Centers in Duisburg until March 2011, where he specialized in Heart Failure and cardiac assist devices. In 2011, he returned to Greece as an Attending doctor of the Thoracic Surgery Clinic at the 424 General Military Hospital of Thessaloniki, while at the same time performing surgeries at the Trans-Balkan Medical Center. Between 2017 and 2019, he was the Director of the Thoracic Surgery Clinic of the 417 Nursing Institute of the Army Equity Fund (NIMTS) in Athens.
He is a member of the German Cardiac / Thorax / Vascular Society since 2007 (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Thorax- Herz- und Gefäßchirurgie DGTHG), Deutschen Gesellschaft für Internistische Intensivmedizin und Notfallmedizin (DGIIN) since 2009, the Michael E. DeBakey International Surgical Society since 2008, the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) since 2010, the European Association for Cardiothoracic Surgery (EACTS) since 2006, the International Society for Minimal Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery (ISMICS) since 2007 and the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS) since 2005.
Since 2013, he has a medical practice and provides his medical Services as a Cardiothoracic Surgeon at the European Interbalkan Medical Center and the Metropolitan General Hospital. Assisted by a team of well-trained and professionally distinguished colleagues, he performs and undertakes to perform the majority of Heart and Chest Surgeries. The team has the technical expertise to implement the most demanding operations in the field of surgery of the Heart and Chest, under the light of minimally invasive surgery, with the sole aim of providing high-level medical services and focusing on the patient's quality of life.
