He was born in Hannover in 1969. As a urology specialist he worked as a scientific associate of the Andrology Specialist Clinics of the 1st Urology Clinic of the University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He holds a PhD from the University of Ioannina (2009) in the field of andrology with the topic of cryptorchidism. He is a Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU - official European urology qualification) since 2006.
In August 2006 he started his postgraduate training at the Urology Clinic of Tottori University of Japan (eight months) as a paid research associate of the Clinic on clinical and research andrology. From January 2008 to March 2010, he was a Lecturer at the same Clinic with special focus on clinical and research andrology.
He was a scientific conference chairman in an andrology session of an international conference in 2009 and invited speaker in (80) eighty Greek and (16) sixteen international conferences. Seven (7) of his papers have been awarded in Panhellenic Urological Conferences (2010-2012-2014) and (4) four papers have been awarded in Pan-European Urological Conferences. He has authored (57) fifty-seven papers in international journals cited in PubMed, (6) papers in other international journals, (5) five articles in Greek urology journals, one monograph, one chapter in a Greek book, (7) seven chapters in foreign language books, (3) three chapters in Greek books and one foreign language book. He is a reviewer for (7) seven international journals. He is Vice-Chairman of the Coordinating Committee of the Department of Andrology and Infertility of the Hellenic Urological Society. He is Treasurer of the Hellenic Andrological Society. He is an alternate member of the Andrology Section of the European Urological Society. He is an elected Assistant Professor of Urology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. During the last 20 years he has performed a large number of surgical procedures in the whole spectrum of urology with special emphasis on microsurgery.
